Flyleaf

Lacey Mosley grew up in Arlington, Texas. When aged 14, she got a bass guitar as a Christmas present. Two years later, after a fight with her mom she moved to live with her grandparents in Gulport. She went to the local high school where she was soon singing and playing in a band with her student friends.

Like many teens, Lacey suffered from her fair share of angst and self-doubt. This changed when she accompanied her grandma to church and found found a new positive meaning to life. Later Lacey moved to Temple where she met James Culpepper (drums). They began writing songs together, and started the search for other members for their nascent band. Soon they had recruited Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann, calling the resultant line-up Passerby.

Over the next 2 years, the group made over 100 live appearances around Texas, and released 3 EPs. During this period, two bass players came and left before Pat Seals joined to become a permanent fixture. The band were keen to join a recognized label, and Octone Records were the first to spot their potential, signing them up on a record deal.

Surprised to find that their name PasserBy had already been trademarked, the group decided on a final name change for the band to Flyleaf. Later in 2004, the band released a self-titled EP. The popular single, Breathe Today came off the EP, accompanied by an awesome video.

The band's first album, again self-titled, was released late in 2005. Singles from the album include Im So Sick, Fully Alive, and All Around Me. Throughout 2006, and 2007 the band toured through the US, Australia and Europe promoting their image and their album.

The band's sophomore album, Memento Mori, was released in November 2009. Hit top ten in the US album charts. The first single and video of the album, 'Again', is a majestic soaring track confirming Flyleaf as a top rock band. Other strong songs on the album include 'Beautiful Bride' and 'Have We Lost'.
